About Head Coach Derrick Ettel
Derrick’s path into running didn’t begin in high school or college. He came to the sport later, building his experience from the ground up. That perspective shapes his coaching today and allows him to connect with athletes at every stage of their journey.He works with runners ranging from first-time racers to experienced athletes pursuing their next level of performance, always with the same focus: meeting athletes where they are and building forward with purpose.His coaching approach centers on:• Consistency over shortcuts

• Confidence built through smart, structured trainingIn addition to coaching recreational and post-collegiate athletes, Derrick serves as Head Coach of the Canton C-Hawks Cross Country Program and leads Vector Elite, working with runners pursuing higher-level competition. That experience allows him to apply elite training principles in a way that remains practical, accessible, and effective for everyday athletes.Under his guidance, athletes have:• Qualified for the Boston Marathon
